What actually happens
after you join.

Most apps ask for a bio and start you swiping. Em works differently — slower, by design. Here's the shape of the journey.

The long way in is the whole point.

Fair warning: Joining Em asks more of you than any app you've used. That's intentional.

But here's what you get for it: Everyone you meet inside has answered the same questions, taken the same care, and wanted it enough to finish. You'll never have to dig through hundreds of half-empty profiles wondering who's serious. Everyone here is.

And once we launch, if you think we've made the way in too long — tell us. We'll listen.

Seven steps. One at a time.

01

You declare your intent

Before anything else, you confirm you're looking for something real — monogamous, long-term. Everyone inside has said the same.

02

You verify you're real

Government ID, LinkedIn, and background verification — before anyone sees anyone.

Your documents and answers are never shown to other members. They see a verification badge — your data stays yours.
03

You set your basics

Age range, city, and the practical preferences — the boundaries the matching works within.

04

You take the assessment

The deep questions — how you think, what you value, how you live. It takes longer than a bio. That's the point.

If your answers suggest you might benefit from a little more time, you'll get a gentle, private prompt to reflect — never a rejection.
05

You create your profile

Who you are, in your own words — written after the deep work, not before it. On Em, your profile is the last thing you build, not the first thing you perform.

06

You receive your matches

2 to 4 people you're genuinely compatible with — and a report explaining why. Not a feed. Not a queue. People, considered.

07

You meet

A real conversation, curated offline events, and a decision that's yours to make. No endless chat threads — a reason to actually meet.

And when it works — Em's job is done. We're built for you to leave.

More on the experience itself, coming as we get closer to launch.

You've done the work
of becoming yourself.
Now find someone who matches it.

No spam. No app yet. Just early access when we launch.
